UxA denounces that the Alguazas Local Police barracks is closed due to lack of personnel (30/06/2019)

Another night, the neighbors of Alguazas have not had agents and they have found the barracks closed.

It was the night of Saturday June 29 to Sunday 30, while the LGTBI Pride Festival and a 12H of Petanque were held in the municipality.

For the people of Alguazas it is routine to find the barracks without local police agents, and the mayor is not worried that the town is left unprotected.

The climate of insecurity is increasing, and nobody is doing anything.

On the night of Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 June, the barracks was closed for not having any service agent, as has already happened on many occasions.

From UxA we denounce that they continue to fail to comply with the Law by not covering the workforce with the ratio of agents that mark the European Directives or complying with the minimum services of two agents per shift as it is regulated in the special conditions of the Alguazas Local Police.

All this is in the hands of the Ombudsman for months, but the consistory has not yet deigned to answer, to which the Ombudsman has denounced for the "lack of collaboration."

It is shameful that even the Ombudsman denounces our City Council for its inaction and neglect.

In April 2018, the mayor and the security councilor were reprimanded for their mismanagement as regards the security of the municipality, and months later seven hundred and fifty neighbors signed a Manifesto protesting before the gates of the town hall for an unbearable situation.

The spokesman of UxA, José Gabriel García Bernabé, denounces that between the months of July and December 2018 there was an unprecedented situation, with 290 shifts without police patrol, which makes a total of 2,300 hours without the neighbors having their agents for any problem.

And it is that the local police unions already denounced the lack of human, material and technical resources to be able to carry out their work, demands that today are still not resolved.

This year, everything indicates that these figures will be overcome and we will see more shifts without agents or police patrol.

There is also no towing service, nor are the cases of infringements of Law 4/15 for the Protection of Citizen Security, having forgiven the criminals to date about 50,000 euros for the inaction of a government unable to manage their own template.

The latter has caused in recent months two losses due to depression as agents have to face offenders to punish them and then go unpunished for the omission of the administration.

The continuity of the socialist government in the consistory has caused an "exit effect" in the local police agents, who have been competing in places of mobility in other municipalities to leave Alguazas.

In fact, three agents already have new destinations in Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorquí and Murcia, respectively.

For now, the next few days we will lose three agents.

From UxA, we will demand in the next Plenary that a Special Committee on Citizen Security be created to control the management on a biweekly basis, given the negligence of the owner of the area and the disastrous management they are doing.

It's up to the opposition groups to take action on the matter, because it's a borderline situation that our neighbors are suffering.
