Closed the program that has used in gardening 15 unemployed young people of Alguazas (23/11/2016)

During nine months the young people have conditioned a greenhouse and have participated in the maintenance of gardens and green areas of the municipality

The program 'Alguazas Emplea Verde' was closed today by the general director of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, together with the mayor of the town, Blas Ruipérez.

During nine months 15 unemployed young people from Alguazas have alternated training with paid professional experience in the preparation of a greenhouse and the maintenance of gardens and green areas of the municipality.

The Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, through the Employment and Training Service (SEF), with the co-financing of the European Social Fund, has subsidized with 116,000 euros this public utility project.

The mixed employment and training program has been specifically aimed at beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee, young people who did not study or work, and who will now be able to obtain the certificate of professionalism of 'Ancillary activities in nurseries, gardens and garden centers'.

Participants in this type of initiative are active job seekers, and inclusion in the mixed programs is part of their personalized insertion itinerary.

The director of the SEF stressed that the certificate of professionalism "will provide these young people with an official degree recognized throughout the country and will significantly improve their options to access a job, because companies increasingly demand these accreditations" .

Alejandro Zamora said that these programs "are one of the active employment policies with a greater positive impact on the unemployed," and stressed that "from the SEF we are still betting on measures that encourage employment in the municipalities."

In addition, during this year, the Community has promoted three other employment programs in Alguazas, which have made it possible to hire 10 unemployed people and have received a total subsidy of 100,000 euros.

Specifically, there have been three projects of Local Public Employment for the improvement and conditioning of the urban environment of Alguazas, for the administrative reinforcement of the public services of the City and for the reinforcement to the brigade of works and services of the Consistory.

Increasingly enrolled in Youth Guarantee

Currently, the Region has 235,500 young people between the ages of 16 and 30, of whom 84,700 work, and about 45,000 do not study or work.

Of the latter, almost 15,000 are enrolled in Youth Guarantee, which is the system that guarantees them a job offer, internships, training or orientation to self-employment within four to six months from enrollment (which can be done online) .

Among the advantages that can benefit enrollees is the design from the offices of the SEF of an itinerary of insertion adjusted to the needs of each of the young people, that facilitates participation in courses organized by companies, with commitment to hire a certain Percentage of students.

To register for the Youth Guarantee, it is necessary not to have worked in the 30 days prior to the date of submission of the application, nor to receive educational or training actions.
