The Regional Governing Council gives green light to the construction of the new treatment plant Alguazas (28/05/2011)

At its meeting this Friday, May 27, the Regional Governing Council has endorsed the construction of new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of Alguazas, a modern high-tech infrastructure that will have a treatment capacity of 15,000 cubic meters of water a day.

This WWTP Alguazas, whose construction will involve the largest economic investment in the municipality in its history (9.5 million euros financed by 80% by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union), also includes strict in its operation tertiary treatment system that will allow elimination of almost all (97%) of the pollutant load (ability to debug it even higher than that required by the EU) and thus allow the reuse of wastewater in agriculture.

This important work to build hydraulic Alguazas also provides all the protection measures and environmental suitability in this regard also offering a complete deodorization and soundproofing.

The construction of the new WWTP Alguazas part of the General Plan for Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment in the Region of Murcia, launched by the regional government and has allowed the wastewater from all municipalities are treated with scrubbers Murcia Advanced design, resulting in both the recovery of more than 100 hectometres of water a year to the Segura to date less polluted river in Spain.
