Originality and imagination in the stories of the Children's stories Contest II "Follow History" Alguazas (07/05/2012)

The award ceremony of the Children's stories Contest II "Keep History", put the finishing touch to the activities that the Department of Culture of the City of Alguazas, organized to mark World Book Day, which this year has been dedicated to work of Antonio Machado, "Campos de Castilla", coinciding with the centenary of its publication.

The originality and imagination, two qualities that were highlighted in the hundreds of studies that have participated in the second edition of this competition, open to students in fifth and sixth grade.

The young writers had to follow the story of a proposed report, which in this case, to continue the theme of World Book Day, was taken from the book "Land of Alvargonzález" at Machado.

The quality of the papers made it difficult choosing the winners for the jury, which consisted of the Councillor for Education and Culture, Isabel Zamora Palacios, who served as President, Professor, Josefa García Gallego, the Technical Culture City Hall, Maria Rodriguez Martinez as secretary, the director of the municipal library, Carolina Matencio Pons.

The school Our Lady of Carmen was awarded the student, Alba Sales Utreras, fifth grade, for the story "My Story" and José Tomás Mateo Cortés, sixth grade, by a story told to the rhythm of rap.

Center "Monte Anaor" was awarded Hidalgo Natalia Martinez, fifth grade, for "The mysterious letter" and Ivan Alcolea Shepherd, sixth grade, for the story "The sentimental value of some land."

Councillor for Culture was responsible for handing out diplomas and an edition of a work of Machado Children the winners as well as a replica of a "Fireplace lookout" for the jurors.

Also attending the awards ceremony, Councillor of Agriculture and Water, Jose Manuel Gil Knight and directors of the school Our Lady of Carmen, Josefina and Mount Anaor Cantero, Jose Luis Bernal.

Mothers of students at the elementary and primary school Our Lady of Carmen, closed the awards ceremony, with the representation of the stage adaptation of the story "The Triplets in Prehistory."

Mothers also received a gift for their participation.
