UXA complaint that "the 54 telecare service users should take copayment introduced by the PP in Alguazas" (09/02/2013)

Unit for Alguazas criticizes high amounts intended for salaries and consultants and then no further offering 13,917 euros for telecare service for free.

The PP is killing Social Welfare.

The Department of Social Services of the City Council has chosen to implement Alguazas copayment on home telecare service, as approved several months ago with the home help service.

Thus, the fifty-four users currently enjoy this service will have to pay to use the service.

José Gabriel García Barnabas spokesman for Alguazas Unit, dramatically rejected the proposal that the PP approved Governing Board session, "back to the people and against the interests of all."

"While 140,123 euros earmarked for the salaries of the councilors, consultants and government bodies, the PP is unable to allocate EUR 13 917 a year is this service" says Barnabas.

This measure took effect from January 2013, while the contract was awarded to commercial Televida, SL for EUR 13,917.60.

After losing 65% of the cost of the service by the IMSERSO, FEMP and the consistory, the PP is proud of its policy against Social Welfare and copayment on home telecare service for seniors.

Now, thanks to PP alguaceño, users will have to pay the full cost, ie, 19.33 euros per month, if your income is higher than € 12,000 per year, 10 per month if rents are between 9,001 and 12,000 euros; and 4 euros a month if rents are an amount less than 9,000 euros a year.

Thus, although gradually, no fee waiver for people with fewer resources, complicating the permanence in the service of many people.

And is that experience plays a trick on us, because the copay was experienced in the SAD (Home Care Service) made of 27 service users enjoyed were reduced to 9 in just one month after approving the fee .

"The mayor of Social Services is to rise to the occasion to hold such delegations" Garcia said Barnabas.

The home telecare service is a resource that allows users to remain in their usual way of life as well as contact with their social and family environment, avoiding the uprooting and ensuring immediate intervention in personal crises, social or medical to provide safety and quality of life.

The service has always been free, but has had to come the PP to remove all subsidies, and Councilwoman Alguazas, Maria Dolores Hernandez, to apply a fee to users.

"Why should we want a council of social services if instead of helping those in need are further complicated its economy" asks indignantly UXA spokesman.

"Shame on you every day to see neighbors who come to the session to seek help paying bills basic supplies or because they have no job and no means to feed and, nevertheless, continues to apply such measures" concludes Joseph Gabriel.
