UXA proposes urge Alguazas supermarkets to collaborate to create a public food bank (22/07/2013)

The motion was defeated in committee by the PP information, preventing their entry and full debate.

Critical UXA not take concrete steps to alleviate the plight of poverty and social exclusion experienced by hundreds of families in Alguazas.

The independent councilor Juan Antonio Westerveld claimed that "there Alguazas supermarket superstores and notoriously staples are thrown away daily a day or two days before they expire and no longer fit for human consumption" .

At the same time, poverty and social exclusion increase in our country and in Europe.

They now total more than 122 million people in poverty, in Spain more than 10 million sole physical hunger, with percentages higher than 30% of citizens living below the poverty line.

Our criminal law and the provisions of the Statute of the International Criminal Court, covering offenses of genocide, crimes against humanity, denial of aid to states of extreme necessity and other provisions apply in these cases.

UXA president, José Gabriel García Barnabas concludes that "the first constitutional obligation of the Government of Spain and all its institutions is to ensure food and health of the population."
