Tourism invites you to discover the region within a five-mile route by Alguazas to mark the Day of Greenways (07/05/2014)

The director general of the Tourism Institute, Mariola Martinez today filed with the mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández, and the manager of Greenways Consortium, Juan Soria, the route to commemorate the National Day XII greenways that this year will pass through the town of Alguazas.

The tour, which will travel eight kilometers, will start at 9.30 am in the courtyard of the former Alguazas Renfe station.

Martinez recalled that "the event is free, is for all public and to discover the natural heritage of the area, based mainly in garden landscapes, and monumental heritage."

"Some of the attractions of the route will be the Church of San Onofre, the Old Tower, both declared of Historical and Artistic Interest, and the restored metal bridge rising over the old railway line," he said.

Martinez also stated that "taking advantage of the National Day of greenways, local restaurateurs Alguazas made available to participants throughout the day a wide variety of tapas and menus at affordable prices."
