The Governing Council approved at its meeting today the signing of several cooperation agreements between the Ministry of Tourism and Consumption and five municipalities in the region, amounting to 33,045 euros, to support a free public service and consumer protection.
Councilor Jose Pablo Ruiz Abellán signed agreements for the promotion of consumer protection policies in Bullas, Alguazas, Mazarron, Fuente Alamo and Calasparra.
This aid will be spent to subsidize the Municipal Offices Consumer Information (OMIC), providing a claims management service, including mediation and conciliation.
The OMIC also offer a free legal advice.
Moreover, the municipalities are committed to campaigning consumer information point on the occasion of World Consumer Day, the summer season and Christmas, among others.
In terms of consumer education activities that are planned for the five municipalities, will target students from non-university schools.
In the agreement referred to, also, that municipalities conduct surveys, market research and comparative analysis of Consumer Affairs.
