Presentation of the book "San Onofre and Gonzalez Moreno" in Alguazas (28/11/2008)

The event took place in the unique setting of the Church of San Onofre and was followed by numerous alguaceños, which were presented with a copy to the end of the event.

The book launch San Onofre and Gonzalez Moreno: Art, culture, tradition and religion in Alguazas, was carried out by the Director of the Museum of Murcia Salizillo, Doña María Teresa Marín Torres, who reviewed the highlights of this work, which reveals this artist aljucereño, author of the size of San Onofre, which is venerated in the church of the same name.

The book, published by the Department of Culture, with the collaboration of different personalities.

Isabel Zamora, Councillor for Culture in the City of Alguazas, said in his address the enormous and commendable work done by the three coordinators of the book, which has worked closely with the Department of Culture for many months to make this project see light.

Mercedes, Manuel and Ulpiano have been the authors of several chapters of this work and, as seen in the Epilogue of this book, San Onofre united in friendship.

Celiz Ulpiano expressing his deep gratitude to the prestigious collaborators who have been part of this work and offered attendees anecdotes of his travels have taken her the furthest corners of the world in their endless research on this saint.

For its part, Mercedes Barranco, Manuel Herrero and Ulpiano Celiz offered the Department of Culture presented the request to the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, for including this sculpture as a work of art in the inventory that the agency is doing.

Among the authors of the texts are Mercedes Barranco Sánchez, historian, teacher, pedagogue.

Belmonte Jesus Rubio, Chancellor - Secretary General of the Diocese of Cartagena - Murcia.

For seven years he was pastor of the Church of San Onofre to Alguazas (1999 - 2006).

He has published in the parish of El Palmar and Alguazas and the biography of the bishop and Marco Sanabria.

Celiz Ulpiano García, Historian, Businessman.

He has published several issues related to Alguazas case, and specifically referring to San Onofre.

Professor of Art History at the University of Murcia.

Manuel Herrero Carcelén, MA in Modern and Contemporary History, Journalist, Psychologist.

María Teresa Marín Torres, MD, Art History, BA in Librarianship.

Professor of the Department of Art History at the University of Murcia and director of the museum housed.

His field of expertise is Museology, on which he has focused his research and publications.

Virginia Pagan Pilar López-Higuera, BA in Art History and Professor of Gold and Jewelry Arts School of Design Murcia.

Germain Ramallo Asensio, Professor of History of Modern and Contemporary Art at the University of Murcia.

Academic Number Arrixaca Santa Maria in Murcia.

San Nicolás Federico Ruiz, Administrative Assistant.

Cayetano Saura Aranda, Artist.

Ujaldón Enrique Benítez, Professor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy of Mind, University of Hull (United Kingdom) and European Doctor of Philosophy.

He was president of the Philosophical Society of the Region of Murcia.

He is currently Director General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
