As has become a tradition every year, alguaceña Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth honors a person within the events organized in the first weekend in March.
This year the distinction of "Honorary Big Brother" was awarded to Francisco Montero Verdú, in recognition of his membership for many years and dedication to this fraternity and, in turn, a posthumous homage to his father, Domingo Bermudez Verdú, who along A142 widowed sisters and 38 brothers re-founded the Brotherhood the first Sunday of Lent 1940.
At that time, the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, the oldest of Alguazas, three years was suspended by the effects of the Civil War.
The planned events begin on Friday March 6 with the Besapié to Our Lord Jesus in the church of San Onofre, which will be open all day to go for that purpose at any time.
On Saturday 7, the day of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, at 19 h.
A solemn mass will be held in honor of the Brotherhood, and then will present the title "Honorary Big Brother 2009."
The scheduled events will culminate with a dinner of Brotherhood.
