The people of El Paraje pay part of the renovation work of the Network for Water Supply (04/05/2010)

This past Thursday, April 29, 2010, was held in the City of Alguazas an extraordinary plenary session which addressed the point called "RECORD FOR THE LEVY OF SPECIAL TAXES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WORK CALLED FOR RENEWAL OF DRINKING WATER SUPPLY THE PLACE OF Alguazas (Phase I) "where, with the votes for the PP and PSOE against, fixed amounts to be paid by landowners in the area of The Spot for the works.

This Phase I work has a cost of 146,029 € '50.

The City must pay the amount of 51,672 € '57, of which the residents of El Paraje '31 € 46,505 paid.

If at its plenary on 9 November 2009, the PP justified the fact that tax charge to the neighbors that it was "necessary to undertake a work sector providing developable according to the General Plan, this argument was no longer valid by the fact that the mayor approved proposal to turn the receipt developable land owners located in Special Sectorizado-1, Special-1 Urban Land, Urban Land Núcleo Rural El Paraje, owners and undeveloped land located in Flood Protection Specific -1.

The mayor alleged that all owners were entitled to the improvement and therefore had to face the tax.

During his speech, the mayor said he had met with some residents of The Spot, without stating who they were or who they represent, and said that they had agreed to pay the tax that was to be approved, ratified circumstance Councilman urbanism.

He argued the opposition Socialist party to this agreement in the fact that it created a bad precedent, for the reason that for any work that would undertake the PP in Alguazas could use this system for funding, undertaking to pay part of the neighbors work for the simple fact that they could be benefited from it.

There are no arguments to sustain the position of the PP, for any work that runs the city council in the municipality, in principle, benefit all residents.

In a statement before the House that made the socialist group, and made reference to how biased the mayor, raised the following issues:

Why is charged to the owners of The Spot for a work of renovation of the drinking water?

Do the neighbors Molina Road and Main Street will pay anything for the renovation of the drinking water supply and sanitation to be carried out with funds under Plan E?

Why would our mayor holds a discriminatory treatment with the neighbors?

It was proposed not to charge the owners of land in El Paraje this new tax as compensation due to urban use differences between the areas compared, for the urban use of Main Street (bass, two roof heights and set back, and without obligation to cede land) was much more profitable than in the area of The Spot in general.

In conclusion: it will be the first time in the history of democracy Alguazas that the neighbors have to pay a work of City Hall.

And we must bear in mind that these figures refer to Phase I, then the receipts come from Phase II onwards.

A real scandal.
