The City will work with the residents of The Spot to promote urban development of the sector (06/05/2010)

Full Alguazas City Council has approved the votes for the Popular Party and vote against the Socialist Party, expand the list of owners who will benefit from the renovation of water supply in The Spot

The renovation of water supply in the spot, corresponding to Phase I, have already begun and will involve the renovation of water mains along the road from the Court to the urban center of this hamlet.

The total construction cost amounts to more than 146,000 euros, of which the Autonomous Community will finance 70%, thanks to an agreement with the City to perform work of the Regional Economic Revitalization, residents contribute 27% and City Hall, 3%.

The government team said that this is the only time that the City work with residents to implement the urban development sector, as when developing an urban area are the owners who have to bear the costs .

Alguazas Mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, explained that although the money that finances the Autonomous Community could be used for other purposes, the government team has decided to work with landowners to The Spot to have to make a less cash outlay.

Furthermore, in the extraordinary plenary session held on April 29 agreed with the votes for the Popular Party and vote against the Socialist Party, expand the list of neighbors benefit from this work to the owners of land in the urban core and owners of land in undeveloped land, but they do have water connection.

In a first plenary session, held on 9 November, only included the owners of developable land, but the government team met with the neighbors and together reached an agreement to increase the number of parcels that have to participate in financing the works.

The government team has found that this is the best solution for both the municipal coffers, which would not be depleted, and for the neighbors, they only have to pay a symbolic contribution of four cents per square meter.

Lladó Fernández said that the work, already underway, under a first phase of the Infrastructure Plan that will need to undertake in the area of The Spot to get your full urban development.

It has advanced, that this action will allow the service to improve the quality of drinking water supply to existing urban core of the hamlet.
