The City Council replaces all the lighting in the two public schools in Alguazas with LEDs (03/06/2020)

In total, 1,360 LED tubes have been installed, which will allow a reduction in consumption that will translate into an economic saving of € 25,112 over the life of these new luminaires.The Alguazas City Council has carried out a renovation of all the lights in the two public schools in Alguazas, replacing the old fluorescent lights with new LED-type lights.

This action has involved an investment of € 6,293.80.These new luminaires guarantee a useful life of 50,000 hours, in addition to being a more environmentally friendly technology, by also reducing CO2 emissions.

These new luminaires have an average life of 12.5 years, so the council estimates that € 25,112 will be saved in lighting costs in these two school spaces in that time."We wanted to improve the lighting in our public schools, investing in the installation of LED light tubes, which represent considerable economic savings and a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions, which is why we also contribute to preserving the environment", says Blas Ángel Ruipérez Peñalver, Mayor of the Alguazas Town Hall.
