Retegui: "You can not leave everything up to the Dependency Act because not all disabilities are dependent" (23/11/2010)

The PSRM-PSOE candidate for president of the autonomous region, Begoña García Retegui, visited Alguazas in his eighteenth straight day tour of the 45 municipalities of the Region.

During his visit today the candidate, accompanied by the secretary general of the Socialist group in the municipality, Blas Angel Ruipérez, has held several meetings with Alguazas associations with the aim of continuing to hear firsthand the concerns and needs of citizens each municipality.

Among the most significant meetings held today by Begoña García Retegui, is the meeting with a group of representatives and members of the Federation of Associations of People with Physical Disabilities Murcia (Famdif).

The meeting, how could it be otherwise, has been about cuts in grants to these associations, which provides the regional government.

"These associations were serving a public and social function corresponding to the autonomous region, leaving them without resources means that the physically disabled and organic will have to stay home," lamented this morning, the Socialist candidate.

"This group has moved me great concern that they face. If the Autonomous Region decided to suspend the grants and partnerships fail to provide these services more than necessary, must be the Autonomous Region to take charge of providing these services . What can not be is that you leave everything in the hands of the Law Unit, because as I have moved from the associations, not all disabled people are dependent, Begoña García Retegui said after the meeting.

The AMPAS not understand the deletion of bonolibro

Another of the meetings held today by the Socialist candidate is with the Associations of Parents of Students.

During the meeting, this group has confessed to not understanding the regional government's decision to abolish the bonolibro above all, they say, given the economic situation in many families in the region due to high unemployment.

"The AMPAS of Alguazas believe that the regional government should not suppress bonolibro and demand a model that allows free or cheaper books. Mothers and fathers of this county, like the rest of the region, are asking the Ministry of Education be made aware and take into account the needs of families in these times, "said the Socialist candidate.

Throughout the meeting, representatives of the municipality AMPAS also moved to Begoña García Retegui concern about the quality of education in the municipality because, they say, has not been sufficient investment and there are regional government deficits important in terms of facilities.

Furthermore, mothers and fathers of the town is also concerned about the high rate of failure and dropout dragging on for years., For class sizes in some of the classrooms, school dropout problems and failure to crawl from years.

Irrigators call for retaining the traditional irrigation and cultural heritage value and the Region

Another of the meetings held today by the Socialist candidate for president of the Autonomous Region has been with irrigators in the municipality.

This group has told the candidate that they consider the Land Law of the People's Party has had a negative effect on the garden and asked that steps be taken to protect the traditional irrigation to conserve cultural and historical value.

In addition, irrigators say miss Alguazas policies from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water to improve competitiveness in the field of organic farming.
