Only 140 locations across the continent participated in this project, which launches today in Italy and seeking funding for modernizing the energy and reduce electricity consumption.
In a joint initiative, the technicians responsible for environment from the councils of Alguazas, Ceuta and San Javier presented today in Trieste (Italy) a pilot proposal to encourage energy saving in their municipalities.
The project is part of the program Patras, a plan of government support for the integration of renewable energy systems in private and public buildings.
Patras is funded by the European Commission through the Intelligent Energy for Europe and involves seven countries, including Spain.
In Spain, only some municipalities will be present.
In fact, the Region of Murcia, Alguazas, Ceuta and San Javier are selected to increase their savings proposals and funding.
Of the other European countries, 140 cities will present their strategies at this meeting.
Under the headline, "Local Law to promote Renewable Energy Systems and Sustainable Energy ', the municipalities of Alguazas, Ceuta and San Javier have described the measures that different local authorities have planned to reduce energy bills.
Through bylaws, the three councils will work in the following areas:
-Ordinance on the uptake and utilization of solar energy in buildings.
Municipal Ordinance-energy efficiency.
-Implementation of fiscal measures to encourage the development of energy projects.
-Ordinance outdoor lighting.
All with the aim of promoting the use of renewable and clean energy, improving efficiency of energy systems, boost savings, reduce CO2 emissions and help from the local level, the fulfillment of international commitments on climate change.
Local Government, through this project, is committed to promoting legislation to regulate and drive the installation of Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Sustainability.
