The Easter Alguazas presented his poster, featuring this year by San Juan Evangelista (24/02/2015)

On Saturday February 21 the Board of brotherhoods Pasionarias Alguazas presented the official poster for the 2015 Holy Week in the municipality, which this year is played by the image of San Juan Evangelista of the homonymous own Brotherhood.

The event, held at the Parish Church of San Onofre municipality, attended the local government team, headed by its mayor, José Antonio Fernández Lladó.

The poster presentation was given by Antonio Mondejar, brother of the Brotherhood of San Juan Evangelista.

The protagonist size poster of Easter 2015 Alguazas was made by Bernabé Gil Riquelme in 1957, three years after the founding of the Brotherhood that until then pulled in procession a 'San Juan "bought in Abarán, known locally as the "old" or "small".

The image appears in three processions of the town and only one of them, Easter Sunday, carrying a palm in hand.

Start with the opening

An Easter 2015 Alguazas officially start on Saturday March 21 (20 hours) in the Church of San Onofre, which will host a Mass for deceased brothers of all the brotherhoods of the municipality.

This Mass will be accompanied by the local branch of bugles and drums "Virgen del Carmen" and, upon completion, will be the reading of the proclamation of these celebrations, which will be borne by Fernando Pinar.

"We expect another year with anticipation and excitement the arrival of Easter, act with more tradition and devotion of our people, whose celebrations he turns around Alguazas, participating as brothers or contemplating our images, pride of our people," says Councillor for Culture, Isabel Zamora.
