The new Director General of Highways, Jose Guijarro Gallego, was visited by the Mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, on Friday 17 October.
At the meeting, were discussed among other issues, upgrading and remodeling of the MU-531 between the towns of Alguazas y Campos del Río.
This road will soon become one of the busiest entrances to the town Alguazas communicate with the new motorway which will pass through the northwest of the municipality and have alguaceños allow faster access and better conditions on the motorway network Region of Murcia.
Jose Guijarro informed the mayor that the proposed improvement and remodeling of the MU-531 road will be hired before the end of the year and will include improvements to the layout and the strong, widening of the road, drainage and a complete signaling.
With these renovations aim to increase road safety at this track and improve communications to the county town of the northwest.
During the visit, also discussed the improvement of this road crossing the town of Alguazas and roundabout construction at the height of San Lorenzo football field, which would service the industrial area of El Cortijo.
The City Council undertook the first phase of remodeling the Carretera de Campos del Rio with the Works and Services Plan 2007.
For the second phase has been referred to the Highways Agency the project includes the renovation of sidewalks, parking lots, street lighting, street furniture and road signs, from Calle Francisco Salzillo to Freedom Square.
At present, the Planning Department is drafting the blueprint for Phase III of this work and the roundabout.
With the improvement of this road will be satisfied Alguazas one of their historic claims.
