Celiz Ulpiano Garcia alguaceño historian, offered the San Onofre Stories conference, on Thursday 6 November in the Auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura.
Framed within the acts made to mark the centenary of the birth of Juan Gonzalez Moreno, author of the size of San Onofre to Alguazas, Ulpiano Celiz gave an overview of much of its research around the figure of San Onofre that have led to various parts of the world.
So he told those present as the story of this holy hermit is seen in various ways, depending on where it is revered and how the stories blend fact and legend.
The conference was presented by the Mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, who highlighted the work and research capacity to motivate the fact that Ulpian Celiz is one of the people most knowledgeable about San Onofre treasures.
The events to mark the centenary of the birth of González Moreno will continue next Thursday, November 20, at 20 pm in the Auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura, San Onofre to the conference, an expression of religiosity of a people by Belmonte Jesus Rubio, former pastor of Alguazas priest.
On November 27 will be the presentation of the book San Onofre and Gonzalez Moreno: art, culture, tradition and religion in Alguazas, by the Director of the Museum Salzillo de Murcia, María Teresa Marín Torres, event held in the Church of San Onofre to 20 hours.
