650 neighbors say "no" to the filter in Alguazas, as denounced by the PSOE (18/06/2009)

Note from PSOE:

On Tuesday June 16, 2009, the Secretary General of the PSOE in Alguazas, Blas Angel Ruipérez Peñalver, presented in the Register of the Regional Government Office a written statement regarding the installation of the WWTP Alguazas in the area of Los Quiñones, whose term expired the same day, after being released last May 22 in the BORM.

The allegations, which involve the outright rejection of the location of the new treatment plant next to the Barrio del Carmen, collected the following points:

- Location inconsistent with the classification of soil in which it is inserted, which states that the installation of a sewage treatment plant station, and so pronounced external effects (odors, noise, etc.), It is not advisable in any way with soil the municipal planning itself is classified as developable land zoned and that many technical means to be adopted, will inevitably cause a number of additional problems to the planned residential land both west and north of this facility and hence its incompatibility .

- Its location has garnered an immediate and profound condemnation Alguazas Township citizens, given the known and obvious negative externalities.

That letter accompanying the 645 signatures opposing the installation in the area of the municipality provided.

- The metric unit used in the calculation of distances employees produce measurement errors, errors due to the "neighborhood" of the station with town sewage treatment plant and the residential land under the general plan, will increase, if possible, problems with residents.

- We found a location "uncomfortable" with current and future residential environment that municipal planning is developing at present, but there is no reason to impose such a placement, resulting in incompatible, so when there are many other locations that meet the same criterion of its proximity to the River Mula and that would not cause negative externalities exposed and known, and that, accordingly, has generated strong public response.

We are not in an environment of undeveloped land, much less than agricultural use, as seems to justify the resolution adopted by the City Council, but there is a sewage treatment plant located within the residential land, with no more than a cost reduction, any reason to justify such a decision upset and, as we have seen, with use of a unit of measurement that will aggravate the problem

Moreover, the socialist municipal group reports that it has not been answered yet, by the City of Alguazas, the arguments presented by the Socialist Party in the record of public information on the planning agreement for the acquisition of land for construction a storm deposit, published in the past BORM March 17, 2009, and developed at a later date at the beginning of the works by the region and without the prior permission of the Segura basin, due to the fact that was executing the work area of river police.
