La Asociación Cultural Amigos de La Torre presented his book 10 Years of Community Life 1998-2008 (26/06/2009)

The Association of Friends of "La Torre" presented on Thursday June 25 at the Auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura's book "10 Years of Community Life 1998-2008" which summarizes the history and work of the association since its inception until today.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Friends of Cultural Association "La Torre" has published a book containing the lives and experiences that have occurred over the last decade.

In the book we can find directories of activities, travel memories cultural, culinary celebrations, collaborations, a chapter devoted to the ethnological museum and even a relationship of partners, both current and those that someday they were, paying special attention to those died.

Matencio Carolina, Coordinator of Cultural Activities of the association, was commissioned to open the floor for interventions with a detailed summary of each section of this book.

Then Matencio Antonio Orts, president of the association, referred to the different moments experienced by the partners over the decade of history.

Antonio Matencio, recounted how a group of friends who love this Interest Property Culture met back in 1998 to form the Friends of Cultural Association "La Torre".

The emotional highlight of this presentation was when the president reminded those members who are no longer with us.

As was appointed a spontaneous and loud applause broke the silence of the room.

Finally, the Mayor of Alguazas, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, who was accompanied throughout by the Councillor of Culture, Isabel Zamora Palacios, praised the tremendous work done by the association in the last decade.

Lladó told attendees the invaluable contribution that the Friends of La Torre paid when carrying out the project designed to restore the building to later make the Ethnographic Museum and Interpretation Centre.

The mayor picked the havoc caused by Antonio Matencio and committed, together with the Department of Culture, to work actively to provide the association of a permanent headquarters and shape recognition for its work in the old tower.

The event ended with the distribution of a copy of the book "10 Years of Community Life 1998-2008" to each of those attending the event.
