Today, 25 November, marks the International Day Against Violence Against Women, a day on which the company shows its rejection and support over the situation facing many women is that of gender violence.
Over one hundred people including students of schools in the municipality: CEIP Nuestra Señora Del Carmen, CEIP Monte Anaor, IES Villa de Alguazas, Vega CES Media, Consistory staff and neighbors have concentrated on the Square City Council for their rejection of this problem.
The municipal mayor, José Antonio Fernández LLadó, could not attend the event, as it was in Lorca, where it has signed an institutional agreement on the prevention of gender violence among the municipalities of the Autonomous Region and .
Councillor for Equality, Dori Bermudez, has been commissioned to read a manifesto against gender violence, a scourge that "must be fought with tolerance, fairness and justice," said Bermudez.
During his speech, Bermúdez has called for "a greater social commitment" and use "education as a tool to end this problem.
Last year, more than 600 women died from domestic violence, 55 so far this year in Spain.
A month in Alguazas are made about fifteen or twenty assistance related to the abuse, said the head of Equality.
